Welcome to the Beer
and Ale Research Foundation!
We were founded in
2005 and based our principles on sharing the joy of homebrew through
education.
We have monthly meetings where we
share homebrew and discuss
techniques and styles. To spark some competitiveness between members
and increase our tasting skills, we participate in regular local,
regional and netional competitions. We also strongly encourage member
participation in both stewarding and judging.
We also have seasonal parties,
and know how to enjoy a
homebrew or
two!
Membership is $20 dollars a year,
and includes some
discounts at local businesses.

December
1st, 2012 - 6th Annual Virginia Beer Blitz hosted by CASK
- CASK
will be hosting the 6th Annual Virginia Beer Blitz at St George Brewing
Company on December 1st, 2012. Entries registration and judging signup
ends on November 20th. If you cannot get your entries to St. George,
have your entries to Home Brew USA by November 20th. Click HERE to see the event webpage for more information.
December 8th, 2012 - White Lab 5,000 Vial Redemption Extravaganza! - White
Labs Founder Dr. Chris White will be making a visit to the Homebrew USA
JANAF Shopping Center location on December 8th 2012. Having
collected 5,000 vials, Chris will be onhand brewing with none other
than local homebrewer and BARF member Christopher Knight. Dr.
White will be onhand signing Yeast books and chatting with homebrewers.
Justin Crossley from The Brewing Network will also be out covering the

December 13, 2012 - BARF Club Meeting at O'Connor Brewing
- BARF
will be holding the December 2012 meeting at O'Connor Brewing in
Norfolk, VA on December 13th at 7:00pm. Come out and talk shop, check
out the brewery and pour a pint or two with us. As always, new members
and those thinking about joining BARF are always welcome!
BARF Member Dues
- It
is that time of year! Club dues can be paid via the PayPal link on this
page (to the left). We should have your membership card available at
the next meeting!
- If you will be joining us at the Chris White 5,000 Vial Redemption Extravaganza, you can have your card ready on site.
